The True Church

What is a church? Certainly not a building. No, not even the flesh and blood persons occupying the pews. It is a communion of souls whose true home is our Father’s kingdom of heaven. This is the true congregation of any church. Scripture says, “where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:20 Given the true congregation is a communion of souls, when each of us commits to prayer we are gathered “in the spirit”. It is not the internet or telephone or post office that binds us but, the work of the Holy Spirit.
I often wondered why the world hates Christians so much. Now I think I am beginning to understand. Maybe it has been obvious to most of you all along. I can be slow to catch on, I admit. The church in its many denominations is a worldly institution run by men and subject the all of the corruptions potential in mankind. The true church is in our Father’s house in heaven and not here on earth. The world judges Christianity by its corrupt worldly institutions instead of judging it by the actual teachings of Christ. If I even mention God or Jesus to most people they run for the door or mentally shutdown and ignore anything I have to say. The world truly hates Jesus as He said they would. “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” – John 15:18
